Currently the camera vision (CV) team has to manually coordinate region-of-interest (ROI) configuration task. This process involves atleast 2 CV engineers and 1 back-end engineer because of lack to database integration and the time consuming nature of the task.
Given that the CV team already uses various solutions for work, the most important design consideration was augmenting the strengths of their current products while removing the inefficiencies caused by them. In a nutshell, the learning curve for their new internal tool must be shallow.
Layout, buttons, navigation, and task flow must be familiar and easy to orient towards.
All dependencies must be integrated seamlessly & all users must be able to view common operating picture at all times
Regardless of use case or client, the workflow and interface must be consistent.
A single platform that: seamlessly integrates various stages of CV configuration task, is a source of ground truth for each client account, and allows CV engineers, software engineers, and field operations teams to be independent.
While most of the efficiency improvement was technical, the design of the in-house ROI Editor reduced more than 50% of the time spent on ROI configuration task.
